New Research
NRTESP(www.nrtesp.org)
XPLAB has start NRTESP initiative (Networked Real Time Embedded System Platform)
The aim of this project is the developping of new concepts in RTOS, languages, cooperative computing.
Within this work a new Microkernel and VMX has already been developed.

SUPERCOMPUTING
XPLAB announce for 1Q 2005 the availability of a Pocket Supercomputer. It will be a cluster configuration of Pentium class processor, scalabe in configuration from 8 to 1000. Application field will be industrial automation, simulation, high speed transaction, financial.

HPGIN project

The aim of this European project is to develop the Communication Layer Software for High Performance I2O optimized for Gigabit LAN technologies like Gigabit Ethernet, ATM or Fibre Channel.

I2O is the acronym of Intelligent Input/Output. It is an industrial standard defined and maintained by the I2O Special Interest Group (SIG).

I2O technology will change the design of I/O subsystems dramatically within the coming years
HPGIN is the project that develops the I2O technology within the framework of communications software for Gigabit LAN.
The members of European Consortium, owner of the project, are Helsinky University, SysKonnect, Eonic System and XPLAB.

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Helsinki was founded in 1967 The Operating System Linux was born in this university.

The german group SysKonnect designs hardware and software products for connectivity to communication systems based on FDDI, Token Ring, Ethernet and ATM technologies.
